ADSB.co Privacy Policy
ADSB.co (the Service) is operated by Highpoint Foundry, Inc., a Wyoming corporation (Highpoint Foundry, we, us, our). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and retain information in connection with ADSB.co on the web, iOS, and Android, including premium subscriptions, aircraft privacy controls, and access for authorized users.
This policy applies to ADSB.co. Other Highpoint Foundry products have separate privacy policies. The Highpoint Foundry Master Terms of Service and any ADSB.co Supplemental Terms separately govern use of the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. ADSB.co can be used without a login for features that do not require an account. Optional accounts are available for premium subscriptions and account-dependent features. If you register or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, account credentials or authentication identifiers, preferences, communications with support, subscription status, and information submitted with requests concerning aircraft or access permissions. Aircraft privacy requests may require aircraft registration details, evidence of ownership or authority, and contact or identity-verification information.
Subscription and transaction information. We may receive purchase identifiers, plan type, renewal and expiration dates, transaction status, and limited billing details from payment processors or app stores. Payment card details entered into third-party checkout systems are processed by those providers; we do not need to receive full payment card numbers to administer subscriptions.
Technical and usage information. When you use ADSB.co, our systems may process IP address, device and browser characteristics, app version, operating system, approximate location inferred from IP address, access times, error and diagnostic information, feature interactions, and security or abuse-prevention logs. The particular information collected may differ between the website and mobile apps.
Device location, including background location. With the applicable device or browser permissions, ADSB.co may collect and process your precise or approximate device location to show nearby aircraft, send nearby-aircraft notifications, and provide location-aware flight alerts, such as estimating when you should leave to meet an arriving flight. Where you enable features requiring ongoing location awareness, the mobile apps may access location in the background, including while the app is not open or actively in use, subject to operating-system permissions and restrictions. Location may be processed alongside selected flight details, notification preferences, and timing or travel-related estimates to deliver those features. We store device location information on servers operated by Highpoint Foundry. Stored location information may include location coordinates, associated timestamps, and information needed to associate locations with the relevant device, account, or enabled feature. You can change or revoke location permissions in iOS, Android, or browser settings; disabling background location may prevent some alerts from working. You may also disable relevant notifications in the app or device settings. Device location is distinct from aircraft location data.
Aircraft and aviation information. ADSB.co may process aircraft positions, identifiers, registrations, flight activity, timestamps, and associated aviation information obtained from receivers, contributors, public records, licensed feeds, or other sources. Aircraft information may be associated with an identifiable owner, operator, or individual, and is treated as personal information where applicable law requires.
Verified-access information. Users requesting special access may be asked for professional affiliation, organization, role, work contact details, credentials, supporting documentation, and information necessary to assess and periodically revalidate eligibility. External privileged access applications are individually reviewed and manually approved or denied by Highpoint Foundry; professional status alone does not grant access. Highpoint Foundry staff and contractors may receive privileged access as needed for authorized work, subject to internal access controls.
2. How We Use Information
We use information as reasonably necessary to provide and operate ADSB.co; provide location-aware features and notifications when enabled; authenticate optional accounts; manage premium subscriptions; display aircraft and flight information; implement aircraft visibility preferences; administer approved-viewer permissions; verify special-access eligibility; respond to inquiries; prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access; diagnose errors; enforce applicable terms; and comply with legal obligations.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for service planning, performance analysis, and improvements, subject to applicable law. We do not represent de-identified information as anonymous unless appropriate safeguards support that characterization.
3. Aircraft Data and Enhanced Opt-Out
ADSB.co may offer eligible aircraft owners or authorized representatives an enhanced opt-out or visibility-control program. Approved requests may restrict how identified aircraft information is shown to ordinary users of ADSB.co. Depending on the available controls, an owner may also authorize particular accounts to view information otherwise restricted through ADSB.co.
An ADSB.co opt-out is a visibility restriction within ADSB.co, not a guarantee of anonymity, confidentiality, removal from external databases, or prevention of aircraft tracking. Aircraft broadcasts, third-party receivers, other tracking services, government records, historical records, and information already obtained by others may remain available independently. We cannot control third-party publication or collection.
Opt-out requests may require proof of aircraft ownership or authority. We may deny, suspend, or revoke a request where the applicant cannot establish authority, information is materially inaccurate, the request is abusive, or legal requirements prevent fulfillment. Changes may take time to propagate through the Service, and some historical or cached information may remain temporarily accessible as technically or legally necessary.
Exceptions and privileged visibility
Privileged Users are exempt from ADSB.co enhanced opt-out restrictions. This means an aircraft owner’s enhanced opt-out does not prevent a Privileged User from viewing aircraft information otherwise hidden from ordinary users, within the scope of that Privileged User’s authorized access.
Privileged Users may include:
- Highpoint Foundry staff and contractors who are authorized to access restricted aircraft information for operating, maintaining, supporting, securing, or administering ADSB.co;
- Law enforcement personnel approved for access in an authorized professional capacity;
- FAA-recognized airport operators and their verified authorized personnel approved for access; and
- Verified fixed-base operator (FBO) personnel approved for access on behalf of an eligible FBO.
External privileged access is not automatic. Highpoint Foundry manually reviews and approves requests from law enforcement, airport operators, and FBO personnel. Highpoint Foundry determines internal staff and contractor access through its own authorization procedures. We may restrict access by role, purpose, geography, aircraft, time, or other conditions; verify or reverify eligibility; maintain access logs; and revoke access for misuse. All access remains subject to applicable law.
An enhanced opt-out does not hide an aircraft from Privileged Users who have authorized access to that aircraft’s data. Aircraft owners should consider this exception before submitting an opt-out request. Privileged access to aircraft data does not by itself grant access to an owner’s private account details, identity documents, or payment information. We may also disclose information when legally required, as described below.
4. How We Share Information
We may disclose information to:
- Other users and authorized viewers: Aircraft and flight information displayed through the Service, including to specifically authorized viewers and Privileged Users exempt from enhanced opt-out restrictions as described above.
- Service providers: Hosting or infrastructure vendors where used, authentication services, customer-support tools, communications providers, security providers, and other processors working on our behalf under appropriate arrangements.
- Payment and app-store providers: Such as the payment processor or the Apple App Store or Google Play used for a transaction, to complete purchases, manage entitlements, handle refunds, and prevent fraud.
- Data partners and contributors: Where needed to operate permitted integrations or comply with applicable data licenses and agreements.
- Legal and safety recipients: Authorities or other parties when we reasonably determine disclosure is required by valid legal process, applicable law, or to protect rights, security, or safety, subject to legal limits.
- Corporate transaction parties: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.
We do not treat an aircraft owner’s request for reduced public visibility as consent to unrestricted disclosure of that owner’s account, identity-verification, or payment information. Privileged aircraft-data access does not itself authorize access to those account records.
5. Premium Subscriptions
ADSB.co may offer paid features through web checkout, Apple’s App Store, Google Play, or other disclosed payment providers. The applicable provider may process payment information and maintain separate transaction records under its own privacy policy. We may receive transaction and entitlement information needed to activate, renew, cancel, or support your subscription.
Subscription terms, billing, renewal, and cancellation rights are described at purchase and in applicable service terms. Deleting an ADSB.co account does not necessarily cancel a subscription managed by an app store; you may need to cancel it through that provider.
6. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
The website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary for login sessions, preferences, security, and basic functionality. Mobile apps may use device storage and platform identifiers for comparable purposes. The actual technologies used may change as features develop.
This policy does not assert that ADSB.co currently uses advertising cookies, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. If such technologies are introduced, we will update relevant disclosures and implement consent or opt-out mechanisms where required. You can manage some browser storage through browser settings, although disabling essential storage may affect functionality.
7. Retention
We store personal information, including device location information collected while ADSB.co is in use or operating in the background, on systems operated by Highpoint Foundry or, where applicable, by service providers acting on our behalf.
We retain information based on operational needs, the purposes described in this policy, security and fraud prevention, subscription administration, aircraft privacy and access management, dispute resolution, and applicable legal obligations. We do not commit to a fixed retention period or a guaranteed deletion schedule for device location information or other records. Retention may vary depending on the type of information, the feature involved, and the circumstances.
Disabling location permissions or background location collection stops or limits future collection through those permissions, but does not automatically delete location information previously stored on our servers. Similarly, closing an account does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of all associated records.
Where applicable law requires deletion, limits retention, or grants an enforceable deletion right, we will comply with those requirements, subject to lawful exceptions. We may retain records where permitted or required for legitimate purposes, including security, compliance, and dispute resolution. Aircraft information obtained independently from other sources may remain in the Service regardless of deletion of account or device-location records.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved, including measures intended to protect accounts and restricted aircraft-data access. No internet service or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
ADSB.co is available to users in multiple countries. Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will implement appropriate mechanisms. Users outside the United States may have additional rights under local law.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a denied privacy request. We may need to verify your identity and may decline requests where a legal exception applies.
You can also manage optional account settings, foreground and background location permissions, push notification permissions, communications preferences, and certain subscription settings through the relevant interface or provider. Aircraft enhanced opt-out and authorized-viewer controls are separate from general personal-data rights requests and may have additional verification requirements.
To submit a privacy request, contact support@hpfd.net and identify ADSB.co in the subject. Do not send sensitive identity documents unless requested through an appropriate verification process.
Where applicable privacy laws provide rights to opt out of targeted advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, or certain profiling, we will provide the required mechanisms if those activities occur. We will not discriminate unlawfully against users for exercising their privacy rights.
11. Children
ADSB.co is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Additional age-related protections may apply under local law.
12. External Links and Third Parties
The Service may link to third-party websites or integrate external data services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this policy. We are not responsible for independent third-party practices.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy as ADSB.co evolves. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required for material changes. The version published at the ADSB.co policy location will govern prospectively, subject to applicable law.
